Hello all,
Very much a newbie although popped in from time to time and enjoyed your discussions.
Was looking for abit of advice. Is there a product out there that could accommodate very aged weathered timber in the form of a table top?. Think very old railway sleepers sliced in halve with the old side up. Looking to obtain a glass like smooth finish so gap filling capabilities would need to be massive. Thinking maybe creating temporery edge and pouring on the finish. Any ideas would be great, many thanks:D

Hey Chippy,

There is also a product called Envirotec Pour on, I get it from Fibreglass and Resin sales in Perth. I'm sure other suppliers in other states would have it.

I did a bed 20 years ago and used adeze finish on pine. Cured super rock hard and super gloss. Just as good today. Couldn't put your fingernail into it. I got it from Taits timber, Next to where Monash freeway and tooronga rd. Wasn't cheap then but a fantastic job. its a 2 part pack like glasscoat. Just poured it on and let it settle to its own level.

Cheers for your quick responses, always good to hear about prducts from people that use them.
Had a quick look into Glasscoat and Envirotex, both look the go but will probably come down to volume ava, shrinkage, flexibility and cost. Theres a store on ebay that has 500ml Envirotex for $30.00, no idea if thats a good price but will need a fare amount so will research more.
Couldnt find anything on adeze...maybe gone now?
Thanks again.
