I have to go, just about out of Mogs colour back sand papers. I usualy get enough of him at this show, (used to be Newcastle show) and the Sydney show to do me all year. Great stuff, lasts well and the colour back makes life easy.

"Veni, vidi, vici"

I came, I saw, I had a good time.

Hi Peter,
I was at your wonderful Artisans Expo today and just wanted to write to thank you for the opportunity to attend.
Along with several others from the Hastings Woodworkers Guild, I spent an absolutely wonderful few hours in the company of my wife.
We loved it.

It was also a pleasure to meet Wood Nut and his mates from Clarencetown and Newcastle - a nice bunch of blokes!

I have taken the liberty of adding a small resume of my experiences today to my blog - The Village Woodworker:

The Village Woodworker: Interlude - Artisans' Expo at Mondrook (http://thevillagewoodworker.blogspot.com.au/2012/02/interlude-artisans-expo-at-mondrook.html)

Once again, many thanks and every success with the remaining two days.
Kindest regards

SG

Here are a couple of pix - many more on my blog.

Sorry Guys, I've just had to change my plans, buggur. I have another load of free timber and hardware offered for my new workshop that I just can't pass up, hundreds of dollars worth so I will miss the good times. Sorry Peter, Tony, Bob. :(

No grief mate. You can't pass up free stuff.
But just to rub it in, it was really good. Spent most of the day there chatting.
Confirmed that I will be doing Howard Archbold's chair making course next year, signed up for a blacksmithing course with Doug Moseley and had a good chat with Colen Clenton and bought one of his 6' Ebony squares as well as some other stuff from Trend and the blacksmith stand.
A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. :U
Will be back again next year for sure.

Bbarst d:U,, I would have liked to have had a chat with old mate the blacksmith too. My new workshop will have enough room for a small forge I'm sure. I bought another small anvil yesterday arvo on a trip to Morpeth with Tack Hama. Where abouts is old mate the smithy at? I know Howard is up Scone way isn't he?
Picked up almost enough timber framing to do one floor of petition wall so saving quite a bit.
Drove past the new digs today and saw the previous tenant taking out the skate board ramps, good sign. I am just chafing at the bit to get in there. Tomorrow I will start the security bars, they shouldn't take too long.
Nice little purchase there too, I got the 4" ebony at Sydney last year, very sweet.

Yep Howard is at Moonan Brook near Scone. Doug Moseley is based in Port Macquarie but he has a brilliant mobile setup. Have a look at SG's blog. He has some pics and details for the expo.
By the way, I am so impressed by the quality of Colen's tools that I will be adding to my square purchase when funds allow.
