Hi I recently picked up a couple of old teak Fler and chairs and a th brown click clack sofa. Though on all, the finish is in need of redoing. I was hoping some one here could shed some light on the type of finish these chairs/sofa would have had and the process to reproduce it.
Both look to have a shellac satin to a near gloss finish(not super glossy) with the teak wood colour still being a rich brown on unaffected areas.
I also have another chair from this era which has a much lighter honey finish but still looks to be teak. It would also be great to know what was done differently to get this lighter finish for future reference.
My experience is pretty limited only having semi restored a few chairs before. Basically giving them a sand back to the timber and then applying Danish oil.
Thanks in advance for any help
Cheers Benji
