Remember the one about the old bloke driving a car for three years in NSW with Vic Plates? Well Since I posted that thread I have contacted the local highway Patrol 7 times. Yes it is becoming a bit of a thing with me now.

I called again today as the old ******* came with an inch of wiping out my side door, and I said "If this bloke can get away with the Vic rego, I want to get in on the act as well as it is cheaper for pensioners in Vic."

"We will have someone look at it for you, Sir" for the umpteenth time.http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon8.gif

But, get this one, if the car is a company car, and the old bloke is has something to do with that company and that company is registered in Vic then their vehicles can be garaged in NSW and registered in Vic. according to Constable Thorn of the Coffs Harbour Highway Patrol.http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon5.gif

I'll bet if something happened you'd be described in the paper as "a driver known to police"!!!

Dan,

As a public servant you probably have to call them a loophole. :D I call it another glaring example of the stupidity of our politicians when making laws.

Has there ever been a law made, apart from giving themselves yet another exorbitant pay increase, that did not require extensive amendmends to get it right. For the doubters try reading the Income Tax Acts.

BTW if 99.99 % of lawyers give the rest a bad name, what about the pollies ?

Nup, just easier.

Are you trying to get them all to kill themselves.

Goes without saying. They sometimes give us a bit of legislation that, in thoery, will really help us do our job. THEN.... They put a few little requirements in that make it totally unworkable.

The laws are made by lawyers FOR lawyers. Forget about the good of the community.

You're such a cynic Ken, anyone would think you've been having to put up with this crud for 30+ years or something. ;)

Enjoy your retirement Ken, just think, you could be where I am and have 20+ years to go...
