Hi All,
I have been lurking for some time, thoroughly enjoying the posts, and learning heaps.
I am approaching the finishing stages of a foot stool (about time as its my wife's christmas present), and would appreciate some advice.
The stool is made from tassie oak (four legs joined by 19x65mm rails), and has been stained walnut and will be finished with Estapol satin.
The top of the stool is 19mm MDF and will have a 50mm foam cushion (tacked on with a few spots of hot melt glue) with fabric cover.
Question: Should I give the MDF a coat of Estapol, or just stain for appearance? Bearing in mind that it is only visible from underneath.
cheers,
John
