When I lived over there some thirty years ago now, I lived in Harbord and worked as the manager of a camera store in Deewhy.
I was invited as a guest to the Harbord Diggers Club and was asked to become a member in order that I could play for the snooker team which of course I did with pleasure.
I spent many happy times in that club and would like to know if the club is still there. Anyone know? any members out there?
I still have my keyring membership badge No. 7128

Harboard Diggers is indeed still occupying the same site it did 20 years ago.

I am not a member however.

That's a blast from the past. I used to play pool there with a guy from Burmingham when I lived in Manly in the 80's.

It's still there Hovo and I'm a member. I watched the Rugby World Cup Final there and was one of two people in the club wearing an England shirt amongst a crowd of several hundred:eek: I only jumped up and down a couple of times when the final whistle went although I have to say no-one gave me any grief and some even came and shook my hand after the game, this is why I moved to Oz, I'd have got my head kicked in back home in the reverse situation.

Try www.harborddiggers.com.au for a look at it now. We used to drop in there after scuba diving off the rocks below the club. Great views above and below water.
