G'day all, My names Rick and I now reside in North Eastern Victoria. Was born in Tassie, lived the majority of my life in Western Victoria and spent a while in NSW in the Border & Riverina districts. I have a long background in Agriculture, Transport and various other industries. I now work as a Property Manager for a Real Estate Office.
I learned to turn wood when I was at boarding school in Geelong, some years later my family bought a new Golding lathe and I started to make numerous bowls and other things. By far the best turning effort I think I did was taking an old piece of redgum fence post and turned it into a lamp. For a long time I have been intersted in woodchopping and sawing as a sport, I am now looking into training so that I can give it a go. I also collect old tools and other bits and pieces. Some of the things I have built up so far are: a number of hand tools for working both timber and metal, 2 Plumb axes, a scythe, a U.S. Mail Rural Post Box, and of course, numerous tool boxes to keep them all in!

Thanks all for the warm welcome. 1 peice of my collection and I forgot to mention it. Im unsure of a number or year but its a Diston hand saw. At least thats the name I can make out on the disc on the handle. Ill stick up a pic when I get one. Thanks again. also I should say that I am a bl**dy proud Australian (not a racist, please dont confuse my patriotism with racism). This land and it tradtions were carved out of the bush.
