Anyone know of a source for Dragon's Blood, a resin derived from Dracaena that used to be used as a stain for mahogany?
I've seen incense-grade resin online but don't know if that's too refined/ too impure for finish.
Or a recipe for prooftint imitation?
thanks.

I think most art shops would carry Dragon's Blood, but unless you want to use it for some specific reason, I would use water analine dyes to achieve the red hue you want. Dragon's Blood can be a difficult cold red on its own and unless you have colouring experience, the results from using it alone could be dissapointing.

Thanks WW. I'll have a look in some art shops. At this stage a mate and I just want to have a play with a few ideas. We might end up using analine aniline dyes.
