HiYall,
I'm currently working on making an outdoor shelf for my deck area.:)
The timber is a slab 3.5m x 300-400mm x 40mm thick, blackhearted sassafras.
As I have been sanding it some beautiful colours have emerged, ranging from black to burgundy (in the heartwood) to the blondish colour of the rest of the timber.:oo:
The shelf will be mostly undercover, won't have direct sunlight on it but might get a bit of rain on it when the rain comes down on an angle and gets under the deck roof.:D
What I'm hoping to do is put a weatherproof product on it that won't change the colours in the timber.
Is there such a thing?:?
I'm open to ideas, epoxy's, polyurethanes etc.
Would appreciate any suggestions.
cheers
