Can anyone recommend a freight company to move a mower and brushcutter from Perth to either Emerald or Mackay (I am happy to collect from a depot) at a reasonable price - IE $300 or less.
When we moved over Wridgeways charged $1200 to move 20 boxes, large tv, push bike, queen mattress and 3 small cupboards.
Now they want $600 just for the mower and brushcutter.

Problem is that they have engines with oil & fuel tanks.
Try TNT, ask them for a quote.
You'll need the weight & dimensions.

It's easy enough to drain the fuel - both are two strokes so no oil.
When I worked for the Ed Dept in WA both of them were moved 3 times by removalists so they carry them ok.

Yup, but things are getting tougher, they'd still be classed as dangerous goods & require extra insurance cover.

try greyhound buses depot to depot, I use them a lot and they have a max weight of 25kg

Hey Smidsy,
Put them in the Qokka or Gumtree and sell them here, and Buy new ones over there, the $300 Freight and what you get for the old ones will buy something as good I would think,

Hei Hazza,
The mower is an old Victa slasher, larger than normal cut and built like a brick facility. The brush cutter is a Kawasaki straight shaft, getting a bit tired but still running like a freight train.
Everyone is telling me to leave them in Perth but I reckon I am looking at $600-$800 to buy comparible gear here. If I can get them here for a price that keeps her in charge happy I want to - mind you, I haven't told her yet that I bought new golf clubs this morning hehe.
