Hi everyone.
As a 29yo girl I'm new to the woodworking world and am finding the scroll saw has became my best friend.
Attached is my first piece, cut from a scrap piece of ply board and stained.
Any tips or hints would be appreciated.
Thanks everyone.
EA

Welcome to the forum EarthborneArt.....nice bit of original scrollsaw work there, good variation in colour but for me I would like to see a satin finish rather than a high gloss. Still it looks good, well done.:)

Thanks guys for the encouragement. Since that 1 I have been doing a new project nearly every 2 days as custom orders. I can't believe how many people don't know about this type of product and want one as soon as they see it. So my normal woodworking got put aside to increase my intarsia skills. Attached is a picture of my latest piece, and if anyone wants the pattern, please just ask. I know that I've been using alot of other peoples ideas, so sharing is good.

Based on that, and a program from the Governement I had been told about (NEIS), I've registered myself as Cottage Woodcrafts and am going to start selling my stuff properly. This NEIS program changes my benifits from Centerstink and lets me earn as much as I want without losing those payments every fortnight. As a SAHM, this is really going to help me. Anyone else out there struggling on the Centrelink payments should ask about NEIS. It's a great program.

My husband has helped me to make a Cottage style box on our trailer and I'm going to hit the markets. I am very willing to take other peoples items and either sell them or get orders. It's important to support other woodcrafters. Any tips from other market sellers would be appreciated. I know of a couple of other crafters in my area, but they sell wooden toys and chopping boards, so hopefully I won't be stepping on their feet too much.

Thanks guys and good sawdusting to all
