I bought a game called vampire bloodlines intalled it and got " could not find disk 1", I uninstalled and reinstalled countless times with same message. I went on about 4 pc forums with no constructive help. I took the damb game back to the shop and after an unbelievable amount of reasons to not change it, and an argument from my dad he swapped it for the battle for middle earth. NOW guess what I get the same message with this one as well. I dare not take it back ??????. So I am stuck with a $79.00 game i cannot play or pay a pc shop to fix the problem probably aboout $130.. all up.

Now my second question and I will probably be in trouble what is a no cd crack I assume it means a crack where i dont need the cd ( which is better than paying about $130.00)

any help please i have no more pocket money left !!!!!!!!

thank you

a real big problem with the crack sites is you are very likely to pick up viruses from them.

Hi Jean

Not absolutely certain (not much interested in what makes these things tick, only that they do want I want to do), but I think what the computer is asking (do they ask? no they demand!) is that you insert the CD to actually play the game. No doubt one of the computer literates will correct me if I'm wrong!
Good luck :)

Do you only have the 1 CD\DVD drive ? If you have more than 1 make sure it is in the first drive that shows in Explorer. If there is more than 1 disc for the game try putting in the others and relaunch. Some games these days do not start with Disc 1 ....

I'd browse the CD and find a folder called Disk1. See if that folder is on the hard drive in the game's folder. If not, try copying it, and folders 2,3,4 etc into the game directory on the hard drive as well. It seems odd, since newer games should be just looking for the CD, not the folders. I would expect a message saying 'NO CD IN DRIVE D' or something similar. At the price you paid, it definitely should be a recent game.

Can you see the game CD in windows explorer?? Maybe your drives are not the same letters as the game wants. Is the CD drive 'D' ? If not, try changing it.

There's a few possibilities here and i think it's a matter of changing things around to get it working.

The CD crack is a program which will allow the game to run without the CD in the drive. Asd it has been stated, make sure you have good virus protection if you download and install one. It will have spyware at the very least.
