Hi there,
I joined Woodwork Forums a couple of years ago and this is my first post. I enjoy making things like quilt racks for my wife (an avid quilter) using left-over Spotted Gum floorboards. Also things like banjo barometers (also using the floorboards... I'm running out of floorboards!!) and small clocks and weather stations using Australian hardwoods.... It's simple stuff, but very satisfying to be able to create something after sitting in front of a computer all day producing, well, nothing really (20 years in IT in the same company and long overdue for a change....).
I am also interested in learning about small-scale milling with a view to harvesting timber from a large Spotted Gum (?) fallen on our property during a storm, so will be seeking some advice in the appropriate forum. Looking forward to learning more on the subject.
See you later,
Ant
