I've been using an old Iwata non gravity feed gun for spraying feast watson floorseal for many years and think its time to go with a gravity feed unit.

After looking on ebay I not keen on paying for another iwata unit so what would you recommend. Also what size nosel would be the best to get.? Thanks in advance for your reply. BTW I use a 12 cfm compressor

Hi,
I'm very inexperienced here so I'm sure there are lots of members that will know better, but I've spent the last couple of weeks looking at spray guns to spray finishes and primers on furniture. My original choice was gravity feed Iwata as well, but after calling a couple of shops and asking for advice, I was recommended this brand AA Spray - Egonomic Series Air Spray Guns (http://www.airless.com.au/ATOMEX%20Ergonomic%20Series%20Air%20Spray%20Guns.htm) . I was told that it's a good quality spray gun (note it's side mounted so you can swivel, which is supposed to be more convenient in tight spaces) without Iwata price tag. I'm still thinking about it but I'm tempted as I can get two different sizes for the price of one Iwata. As for the nozzle size I would check recommendation of the manufacturer of your floorseal. So far all the finishes I looked at, including lacquer and 2 pack finishes recommend 1.8 to 2.00mm.
I would be very interested in other members' opinion. Like I said, I'm very inexperienced, so I've been doing lots of research and talking to different retailers. They all have different opinions obviously. I'd hate to buy expensive equipment and not being able to use the gun with my finish because the nozzle is the wrong size or cover the whole garage in overspray.
Anyway, this is my 5 cents for all it's worth. Good luck.
