Insect in my finish....

Hi Folks

THis is my first post to this forum and its the act of a desparate man......I am hoping to draw on some general expertise to assist in my little conundrum.
Whilst I was laying on my second coat of varnish to a window ledge today all was going along fine.. happy with how things were going. Went back later to see how things were going and (as the name implies...bugame) 2 little insects have suicided into my finish.:~ They are not very big, but what I want to know is am I able to pick them out and then have the next coat (or more if necessary) restore the finish or am I stuffed and need to sand back and start again.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes some insect like eat wood. Some wood are also susceptive to the insect attack.
You shout do pretreatment to your wood before start processing it.
There any method to treat the wood. Now the most popular is chemically treatment.

It's just a window ledge - not a tabletop or anything like that.

I would pick them out, lightly sand any roughness, and carry on. But that's just me.

You'll probably get more bugs in coats three and four anyway.

I would leave them in there until the coat was dry then clean them up. That way you end up with only small bits of bug stuck in the paint film. Trying to pick them out of wet paint usually pushes the bug further in making a bigger mess.

Yea. Wait till it's dry, then knock 'em off at the knees with sandpaper. Trying to pick them out when wet just makes a much bigger mess.
