New member unable to post messages.

I have a friend who has been trying to join up on Woodwork Forum. After a few problems his registration was accepted.

Now, He tells me that he can log in but cannot post. I seem to remember some restrictions on new members for a short while, am I correct? How does the system work so I can relate this info to him.

He sent me a pm, so something is working ok, just trying to work out why he is having some problems. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure what name he uses here but he is a Canadian, although I think we have stopped banning them haven't we. lol.
