Hi
So my first project is a blackwood table and it's been a long road, but the end is in sight.
I joined the boards using Titebond III glue but due to some work travel was in a rush and did not wipe the glue off as it set. After preliminary sanding it has left some slight pink marks. The table is flat after gluing (and it should be after I spend so long on those joints:~
Anyway, I can remove the pink marks by sanding but they seem fairly deep and I dont want to risk un - flattening the top. On the other hand I don't want to get to oiling it up and find the marks show at the final stage.... I have enough rework to do. SWMBO decided early on I needed to stain the table as she wanted it dark, in contrast to myself that just wanted it oiled. Then she found a picture of a similiar shaped table that was natural and oiled...you can guess the outcome.
So now I'll sand to 1000 and use burning oil to finish
I have attached some picture of the table top and glue marks to help with any diagnosis anyone want to suggest.
Thanks
Graeme
