Well i have finaly relented and will soon start restoring our kitchen table, although it is on pine with a furniture polish finish at the moment i intend to strip it back with metho and 0000 steel wool. But what do i put back on it, at the moment i am leaning towards organoil hard burnishing oil, if i do this can i put a bees wax polish over it to give it a nicer finish or will the organoil do on its own, i see organoil also have a timbersheen product, is it any good. can anyone tell me if this choice would suit.

Bees wax is gunna go soft in summer in Blunderberg.
Is it a family antique or a functional, everyday kitchen table?
If it's a functional piece in everyday use, you need a tough finish or
you are going to be refinishing it often.
I bought an old pine table ata 2nd hand shop for about $75.
It was buried in green/grey/orange/pink/blue paint. (Forgot yellow!)
I stripped it back & did it up in a nice oil finish that was chemical free
so it didn't fill our house with nasty fumes etc but it also didn't set .
The then girlfriend, (now ex) put a F'n pot plant on it & it now has a
bludy great ring in it that goes all the way to F'n China.
I'd been better off leaving it painted & just giving it another coat of
my favourite Ranch Brown Killrust or something.
The moral of the story is, think about the value & use of the piece &
then... if it's gunna be used, bury it in something hard. :D

The organoil by itself will give a great finish. Go to their website and get the application procedure as it makes a big difference.
