Tried to post it hung for 5 mins but using another tab found that it had gone through anyway. No problems with other tabs or sites.

About 25 plus another chunk of high load preceding it. I've rebooted the server, it appears to be responding normally now.

Yep you would have while it was booting up, it's to be expected for a few minutes. I'm looking into what caused the load spike prior to the server crashing.

Yep. Started the session as usual then got the message. Tried again successfully a few minutes later.

Telstra are up to something.... I suspect that there are changes happening to their backbone services.

Not sure if it is all related or not but the Analogue TV network was shutdown on Monday & a subbie I know got a job going around turning off some remote power installations. Maybe it took out some microwave links.

On Tuesday there were at least 6 Auto Tellers in remote areas that would no longer connect reliably at 2400baud but worked at 1200baud. :?

Last night & all today the internet has been weird.

Often very hard to log into mail.bigpond.com also hard to log into anything at www. bigpond.com

Cliff techies that have been here have said new servers for upgrades are being installed as well as exchanges to handle the upgrades. This means upgrades to modems in near future I was told when I rang back to discuss why I was paying premium price getting no service and no satisfaction of repair. Foxtel and telstra line all same bad connections next door is o Optus same son is optus same and in different area.
