The Blacksmith was working in his forge one day in the highlands when he heard the skirl of the pipes.
He looked out and saw, over the far hill, the brave sight of a Piper in full Regimental Highland Uniform. He marched down the hill. across the burn, up the glen and finally along the street to the doorway of the forge.
Folding the pipes under his arm, he spoke.
"Do ye do repairs?"
"Aye I do."
Reaching into his sporran he produced a huge, battered and torn condom.
"How much to repair this?" he asked.
The Smith examined it closely.
"That'll be one and saxpence" he announced.
The piper replaced the comdom in his sporran and, hefting his pipes, he marched away playing lustily.
The next day the Smith looked out and saw the piper again. He marched, playing, down the hill, across the burn, up the glen and up the street.
Standing in the forge, he again the produced the condom and handed it to the Smith.
"The Regiment agrees!" he said.
