Can someone help me.
I have tried to insert quotes in a reply to a thread but cannot get the quote to appear in a shaded background. I know it can be done but can't seem to get it to work.

the http://cdn.woodworkforums.com/images/editor/quote.gif icon in the editor lets you surround text with quotes. Or you can click on the http://cdn.woodworkforums.com/images/button2/quote.gif button when replying to someone's post.

If you're referring to this post (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f175/hello-129136/#post1256279) it would be that you have removed the
at the start when you deleted the rest of the message that you didn't want in the quoted reply.

All quotes must have quotes tags at start and end.
