Good Morning Friends,
Today is a two part quiz. Especially for turners and wanna be turners.
Name four rules that woodturners live by.

Name the six most important basic woodturner's tools that are a must have.

Respectfully,

Good Evening Friends,
Since there was no answer to the quiz I am assuming that there are no turners in the land of OZ.

Thanks anyway for your support.

Ralph, I was curious to know what the 4 rules are. The chisel bit is easy as it has been covered in the forums BUT it depends on who you speak tu. :D

Here's some of my New top rules for using my big lathe.

#1-I WILL slow the speed back down for hand sanding  .

#2-I WILL NOT EVER EVER use heavy duty material backed sandpaper looped around my thumb ever again on a 2.5 hp 1500 rpm spinning metal lathe(Esp one I'm too lazy too slow back down again)

#3-I probably should have gone to the doctor about my thumb, but it's been a week and is improving slowly, and what the heck I'm happy enough to still have the bugga :) .

#4-I will be using a deadmans footswitch (remove foot...machine stops)on any lathe I ever use from now on & recommend them to one and all.

Good Morning Friends,
A question has been asked what the four rules are that woodturners live by;
1. Purchase tools with high- speed - steel blades.
2. Start with smaller tools.
3. The tool must remain in contact with the lathe's tool rest.
4. Study turning books to learn more about each tool.

There are the four rules as listed in an article of the WOOD Magazine issue 148 on pg 98.

Thank you for your support.
