The Lismore show this year featured a small timber and woodwork section with demos of wood turning, box making , surfboard making, timber merchants, a Lucas mill as well as the well known Pat Gregory (Woodwork for Women) and Stan Ceglinski's travelling circus.
It drew a lot of favourable comments and will probably go again next year. One machinery /tool business has already asked to be included. It was a arranged a bit hastily so it is hoped that a lot more local crafts people and businesses get involved next time, and we will try and get to as many as possible as early as possible. PM me if you are interested.
Stan was to do a special demo in which he would cut off his leg with a crosscut saw and re-attach it with a bridle joint fashioned from raw timber using traditional tools. However he chickened out at the last minute, claiming he needed both legs.
A pretty "lame" excuse, if you ask me.
