Dear Campbell,

I have a couple of questions, but let me say at the outset that the decision to fund a roll out of the broadband internet through the Brisbane sewer network is imaginative and inspired! I just can't imagine how much will be saved in excavation costs! I would like to know however, will the council be formulating a pamphlet to explain such things as how to clean that part of the cable that exits through the toilet bowl and whether it is better to run the cable over or under the toilet seat? Now I'm clever enough to know of wireless modems, so I solved the privacy issues of having a cable run through the doorway of the small room myself, but will the council reimburse householders for the installation of a power outlet in the toilet? Also, my sewer requires a treatment from a plumber's eel at least once a year (nasty tree roots from a council planting) so who pulls the cable out and relays it?

Good luck 'laying cables'.

PS. By the way on another matter, thank you for closing a local road for months to dig up a perfectly adequate causeway and spend millions installing a 'bridge' of inferior design below flood level. It gives me hope that council workers really do like to work, now you have to do it all over again.
