I have been looking at purchasing a Makita 1210L saw and have been checking prices waiting for the Melbourne wood show.

At this time Amazon has them for @ $550. us. and with the Aussie $ that very good going.

The problem is that Amazon quote @$500us to freight it here.

Any ideas how to get it here cheaper? ( its @ 26 kgs):-

$310USD if you join US Mail Forwarding, International Shipping | MyUS.com (http://www.myus.com) Works great and they will consolidate all your orders saving $$ on postage. Helps to buy all those items on amazon that "can't" be shipped ouside of the US

When looking at the US Makita site, I can only find a 1210LX.

The reason that I'm asking is that aren't you blokes using 230 Volt electrical systems? The saw that I found is US spec and uses 115 Volts.

Try Toolking.com - they are often cheaper on delivery than most

Yes we are on 240V but many of us have 110-120v capability. Its worth it for certain tools where there is a huge difference in price between USA and Aussie stores. For example some ( but not all ) Festool gear

I'm hoping to buy a Festool Domino from USA using MyUS.com (only costs US$780 plus PP), and I have a 110 -240 volt converter thingy. Are there going to be any problems with this?

Thanks for this address, high shipping costs or ship to US only can make purchasing
from their difficult.
Many things available from the US are not available here.
