Good Evening Friends,
When setting trusses on a 4/12 pitch over a pole structure of 75' it is understanding that you can not place a ribbon on top of the trusses to hold them while you continue setting the next truss.

What would be your solution for this problem?

Good Evening Bob,
That would depend on how long a ribbon you have to do any good.

Since trusses of that size being 12 1/2' high in the middle, one could place a ribbon or perlin on top as far out as he could reach, use a scissors hoist or place diagonal bracing between each set of trusses. Due to the fact they are normally set 4' on center, most times all three methods would be used.

Thank you for your support.

Respectfully,

Ralph,

A little bit of translation here please!!

On second thoughts how about you translate the whole question!!

I am guessing a 4/12 pitch is 1:3 so why is it not described that way? Here we would talk in degrees of pitch anyway (well some of us would!).

A ribbon??

We'd just use a bit of framing timber and a nail or two. (OK now I've seen the size of the truss!!!.... It'd be very unusual to see a timber truss that span these days, and a crane would be the go!)
