If you want something fast, easy and pretty much fool proof then some Wipe on Poly from Bunnings, shouldn't change the colour of Tassie Oak much. Danish oil is another wipe on easy finish but may make it a little darker, will develop a nice petina after a while. Or some plane old brush on Estapol or similar. Bit harder to get nice with brush strokes and runs etc but a good tuff finish. Shelac is a little more tricky, lovely finish but may send it a little yellow.
Buffing oil is ok too but may be a bit more tricky than the Danish (or Scandanavian oil) oil.
Good luck

Yeh, Danish and Scandanavian are pretty much the same thing. Organoil, Feast Watson, Wattyl all do similar versions. Or you can mix your own if you have access to 30% Estapol/varnish, 30% boiled linseed oil, 30% Tung oil.

Is it possible to spray on Danish Oil with a HVLP spray outfit? What is a good solvent for it? How many coats would you do for a book case?
