Can anyone give me some advice on achieving a limed timber look using a 2pack finish? I've got some hints that you can dilute some white paint with the usual 2pack finish so that the natural grain and some colour of the timber will still be visible.
I'm thinking of this for a kitchen benchtop. We've had a beautiful tassie oak benchtop in a previous house but we need a lighter colour for our current kitchen. We like the limed/whitewash look of timber and would love to recreate this on a benchtop surface.
I had thought of staining/liming the timber first and then having it 2pack finished but I'm worried about getting the effect to look even. Lighter colour timbers tend to be a bit yellow so I think a limed look would be better.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks!
