I recently moved into a new(old) house in which the previous owner left behind two small slabs of Redgum. I didn't have much furniture and needed a coffee and entrance table so I started calling around and found a bloke in Wandin to mill the timber for me.
I'd never built any furniture before but I've played about with timber before with house renovations etc.........so I made two tables for the very first time. Spent some time inspecting how these things are typically constructed and went from there.
Thought I'd share some pics as I think I've discovered a new hobby! I haven't finished them yet as I've been trawling through these threads to work out which finish to go with. At this stage, I'm going with oil then then wax to finish as per other thread recommendations.
P.S - the lighter timber on the sides is Bluegum.........there wasn't enough Redgum so I went for a two tone effect.
