Dunno mate, yr best bet is probably to contact waterlox themselves at

http://www.waterlox.com/

I could find no australian web references to it.

U may wanna consider any Australian products such as

http://www.ubeaut.com.au/ubhome.htm

or

http://www.organoil.com.au/

It'd be worth a look at Rustin's Danish Oil and a bit of burnishing if you can't get Waterlox.

Well after a lot of looking around and frustration I sent an E-Mail to Waterlox and got the following reply:

Luke:

Thank you for your inquiry about our Waterlox Finishes. We actually do NOT have distribution in Australia at this time. You can order direct from us, however. Please let us know what products you're interested in and the quantity of each and we'll get you a quote.

Thank you for your interest, we look forward to working with you.

What is special about Waterlox finishes? I looked at their site and didn't see anything I could not buy here and then some.

I'm in the same boat. I wanted to use Waterlox for a guitar project and got the same reply. They did however give me a quote (US dollars) for ordering it from them and obviously it's too expensive.

2 gals Original Sealer/Finish @ 40.25 = 80.50
1 gal Original High Gloss @ 54.25 = 54.25
AIR PACKING & FREIGHT = $615.00
TOTAL ORDER COST =$749.75

There's a whole bunch of varnish products mentioned in US woodworking magazines that I can't get my hands on here: Behlen's, Daly's, Waterlox... I found an Aus distributor for Tru-Oil but I have my doubts about its durability.

Does anyone know of a good polymerized tung oil finish or high-gloss varnish available here that is similar to Waterlox? I've spent a lot of money on getting the best possible wood I could find and don't want to skimp on the finish. I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Who knows, its a shame some people think imported is naturally better than home grown.

I have heard nothing but praise for Waterlox products. Good to see they are now available in OZ.
Thomas Johnson frequently uses their products when restoring furniture.
I was thinking of bringing some in myself mid last year but the cost was prohibitive.
