I joined the wonderful world of woodwork about a year ago when the local Men's Shed offered a day for the ladies. We call it the Shelia's Shed. We have one of the men there to assist us also the occasional drop in if there is a lot of us. We usually have about 5 ladies there. We started with bread boards and have progressed in leaps and bounds. I had done repairs and restoration of furniture as I like nice things but have a limited income and that was the only way to do it. Now I can make things. I have made an occasional table with a slab of champour with a top finish like glass and I am proud of it, now making a dinning table. May sound strange but is looking good, Iam using water resistant chip board with a strip of rosewood and western red cedar on the edges. It is a tressal style with a red cedar streacher bar. I had fun doing the corner mitres and am quite happy with them. Will post a picture when finished.
