But got this reply instead:
This Thread is more than 1000 days old, you can't reply to it.

Under the reply box, there is a tick box that you need to tick in order to say yes I am aware that this Thread is rather old but I still want to make a reply.

Now that is interesting FXST01, that might explain why we get reports like yours quite often.

There are certain skins that do not have the "button" there.
I know the basic doesn't.

FXST01 - I have checked out all the skins available to general membership and the check box is available in all of them as shown in the screenshot by Big Shed.
Not sure why it isn't working for you but the screenshot you sent doesn't look like it came from a Reply to Post as the top of the page should have an address line similar to the one in the below screenshot. Not Woodwork Forums - Message as in your screenshot.
Got me beat as to why it's not there.
