Im trying to emulate the attached photo for our front door.
I've ordered the bricks from the brick pit in Paramatta and they are due in 2 weeks.
What I have is cedar windos now arrived in the front of the house and want to set the front door the same.
I've sketched out a draft arrangement

but have never done this sort of thing before and am curious about;
1. Do I really have to use cedar or can I get the same finish with something a bit more amenable to price.(..like half the price)
2. I assume and have drawn 25mm quad to fill all gaps. Would this be in cedar?
3. I presume I'll have to use a cedar door jamb - assume 40mm thick
4. Not sure on how to finish the centre post between the door and the side lite.
I talked to a chippy yesterday but he suggested to me I order all the timber - what to order is another big problem.
All suggestions (apart from "buy one already made") welcome.
