I have just finished building this corner table/storage box for the lounge room.

It is made of Tassie Oak with ply insert panels. It is going to get a bit of a work out from the family, but I really want to keep the top looking nice.

I was thinking of staining it to suit some of the other furniture but on reflection I really like the colours, so am looking for something that will keep it looking good and give it some protection from the odd crayon and spilt drink.

Any help would be great.

I was thinking maybe a euro, but are there any better then others?

Cheers

Harvey

I have found that the following worked for me:

1st coat 40/60 BLO / Turps - wipe off excess then let dry
2nd coat 60/40 BLO / Turps - ditto
remaining coats use Minwax wipe on poly.
