Hi guys, Im in the process of getting a front fence built and an electric gate installed.
Does anyone have ideas on which gates are the most reliable or certain gates to keep away from?
thanks,
Phil

I have a Boss sliding gate operater from Steeline it has has been in daily use for two and a half years, operated several times each day. It has never missed a beat, by the time it was installed i.e operater plus sundries it cost about $900

i know most swing open gates take all of 1 second to get threw when there supposedly locked. sliding gates are a little harder to get threw.
you wouldn't believe the amount of people who have their gate shut when you arrive to work on there property.

If you require more security you can fit a electic dead bolt

I've seen a few of the slider type in my area. The slider type gate seems to be in use for about 6 months and then left in a permanently open state. (I can only guess why.)
Unless you have a need to keep animals from getting out, I would not bother with an automatic gate.

Before I would like to comment.
Where is you property - Rural or City.
What is its purpose - keep out people or animals.
How often would it be used each day.
How far from a source of electricity.
There are probably other factors that would have an influence but these will do for a start.
