Hope you can advise with this.

Í'm planning to make a couple of bookcases - the mainly in a light timber (thoughts are silver ash) with the shelves edged in Jarra - I don't want a gloss finish, just a low sheen. I was thinking of using Organoil danish oil - but one concern I have is that when rubbing in danish with a fine wet & dry the dark of the Jarra would effect the lighter coloured timber. Aother concern I have is that it could be difficult to get a good even finish in the corners - where any fixed shelves meet the sides.

It doesn't have to be organ oil anything which gives that low sheen finish and can be easily cleaned / dusted etc.

You dont have to sand in Organoil, just apply with a paint brush, let it soak in for a while, then wipe off the excess with a rag.

Send a mail to [email protected] or checkout www.organoil.com.au and ask them for advice - it may take a couple of days but you get it from the horses mouth.

Simple do not sand during the finishing process. and vacuum up all dust from sanding before you start oiling.
If you are not in a hurry to build a finish then use yhe higest quality pure Tung oil you can find rub it on and rub it right off ( with vigour).
