Ah Victoria state of confusion,:? road rules (what road rules??) :oo:.
Best sight seen was in rear vision mirror :q Melbourne getting further and further off in the distance. :~
Now dont get us wrong Vic has some beaut areas around its capitol. (Melb & parts of Vic I have ventured to a few times when driving years ago and this trip).

Wallan being one of them, never been there before a phone call was all it took and Allan from Wallan and his lovely wife Val jumped out of bed at 8am & rescued us. Having left the motel early spending over an hour getting out of Melbourne we missed breakfast (medication required with food) . Allan met us in town and guided the way to his humble abode.

Val prepared toast and tea while Alan went and brought in fresh grown tomatoes :tongue5: flavour to die for. Thanks Alan & Val :2tsup::2tsup: for your hospitality and friendship a couple of hours chatting and I/we hope one day to repay when you visit NSW.

Finally after much goading, conjolling and prodding I got to see his SHED :U and wood stash:;. His show case of works is a sight to behold, his pen collection, he should show more on here.

Osage Orange everywhere even scored a bit :2tsup: thanks Alan. see pic
Nah really he was generous I have a log also just not photographed it yet. Forgotten what the other timbers are already .

Now Alan has been recovering from his operation has lost a lot of weight looks good healthy and is keen as to get back to turning. :o The scar wow any bigger and you'd think they had sewn the top and bottom half together.

We are how ever sorry we didn't have time to get to see Aussie and his wife but time just didn't allow we hope maybe nex time or when they are heading up this way.

It was a pleasure to meet up with both Ray and Sue
whom I have been communicating with for the last couple
of years through the Forum and also Skype.

Despite your derogatory comments about Melbourne you
are always welcome in Wallan (crime centre of the country):D

Cheers,

Allan

My derogatory comments were instilled in me when I was taught Banjo Patersons poetry.

Allan isn't that why you LOVE WALLAN its not in Melbourne :;

As for Crime Centre there is a similar named suburb of Western Sydney Whalan has a similar reputation just larger population

I received a very pleasant surprise in the mail today.

A box of mixed blanks which will add to my collection
and ensure I get back in the shed soon to make a few
pens.

Thank you Ray and Sue - I never thought I would receive
pen blanks in exchange for tomatoes on toast.:D
