Try deleting your browser's Temporary Internet files or clearing its cache.

The browser is the window that you're using to surf the web with, ie, Firefox, Safari etc.

Probably best you wait till the other half gets home and ask him to clear them for you

Do you know what Browser you're using? If it's one I'm familiar with I'll call you and guide you through it as it is fairly easy to do.

who's your internet provider? is your internet slow or just this forum?
If its the internet then clear all of your temp files, do a disk clean and defragment.
If all fails ring your internet provider and ask if there is a reason for your "slowness"

Let us know how you go
Regards
Jack

Jack:C So having all those things on the desk top slows it down? Why? (I won't be able to find 'em if I can't see 'em.:C:rolleyes: )

First, do a search for "Temporary Internet Files" through your search engine you should then see a sea of useless files that are just taking up memory for nothing. The Temporary Internet Files (or cache) folder contains Web page content that is stored on your hard disk .
Second, do a "disk cleanup": 1 press start button > programs> accesories> system tools>disk clean up and when thats done
Third, as second step instead of disk cleanup press Disk Defragmenter, for your drive which is normally drive C.

OR have a look at this http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahic.html

See how you go and you should see an improvement. Sometimes your provider will intentionally slow your service to force you to upgrade to a faster service and pay more for it.
