I'm a bit p*ssed off with the newspapers here who are trying to make out he lost the gold rather than won the silver.
Cheers,

On the tv broadcast of the show they had their expert commentary on the competition and it was so embarassing I turned the tv off and didn't go back. Have we become so pathetic and arrogant as a nation that second best in the world isn't good enough? Bloody Eddie back on tv again, looks like I won't be watching as much of the games as I thought:(

Have a look at another view of this guy here (http://www.smh.com.au/sport/winter-olympics/why-mr-miserable-leaves-us-icy-cold-20100215-o2zy.html). It says he is a Canadian flying the Australian flag of convenience

Well Australia really is a hot bed of winter sports...... Its a bit of an ask to get fired up about it when all of the athletes train predominately overseas, have no local presence or are changing citizenship to get into a team. Then watching white fluffy stuff when its 40c and 90% RH, its time for a beer I suppose. Reminds me of Westfield's snow. Wonder if ti smells the same?

:whs: That and having to sit through endless replays, endless Getway type things on the Canada and very little sport - I'm not interested in the least in watching it.

I love the downhill, the luge, the tabogin, the ice skating and a few others - but Ch 9 absolutely kill it for me.

And the times they are showing it on the box, wait until I get the viewing stats on it and I bet it will be a fizzer.

Unfortunately, the so called presenters who seem to think the event has been put on so that they can strut their stuff follow the idea that second place is in fact "the first loser".

If the results do not match what they think should have happened then the next approach is to either make fun of the winner or claim "we" [and please do NOT include me] have been rorted.

The comedy aspect [a night out with Dale Begg-Smith] - sorry, didn't even qualify for any final I can think of. Crass, boorish, an insult to Begg-Smith and the general Australian population.

I could go on and on but...............................

Great effort by All of the athletes in spite of the TV coverage.
