Hi all, great forum. First-time poster, hoping to get into woodworking soon, but for now I need some advice on how best to take care of this new table. We purchased a beautiful Big Sur from Crate & Barrel, and the details from the store are as follows:
Crate and Barrel - Big Sur 90.5" Dining Table shopping in Crate and Barrel Dining Tables (http://www.crateandbarrel.com/Family.aspx?c=883&f=14071)
Solid white oak
Dust with soft dry cloth.
Do not leave spills unattended.
Wood characteristics: grain, knots, pitting, mineral deposits.
Seasonal splitting and checking are inherent to this product.
Handcrafted and unique, each piece will vary.
Use natural beeswax regularly to maintain finish.
Protect from heat and liquids.
However, I have been reading that beeswax might not be the best to use as it attracts dust, is greasy, etc. So is there a better way to maintain this fine table?
