Hey guys,
Thought I'd post a bit around here and say g'day to everyone.
Im currently 17 but am turning 18 on the 4th of March which is exciting. I have been lurking around here for awhile and finally thought I'd join up because it seems very friendly and helpful here. I am currently in year 12 in school. I am studying design and technology as part of my subjects which I will must likely be posting what I am building and asking for advice because I am a newbie at working with wood, though I do love working with wood none the less, I find that it calms me down and helps me relax and think about things while having fun. Anyways, I don't want to blab on about myself, so I'll hopefully get to know most of you guys on here :)
Cheers,
Flame.on

Hi flame.on....Wodonga!...never been near it but my Mum grew up on a farm not far from there..a little place called Springhurst.. That was before the war though so I guess you weren't around then. One of my kids is in year 12 and he's brought home some really nice stuff made at school. Wine rack, bar stool, coffee table. Reminds me of my own woodworking classes at high school. made a nice desk that is still sitting in Mum's living room.

I have an aunty who lives in Springhurst, it is quite a good small farming town out there. And everyone loves woodworking classes in school don't they, you usually make some really nice things that can last a lifetime

Thanks artme,
Yeah I agree with it's good that youngsters like me are joining up here and enjoying woodwork, because if this doesn't happen woodwork could slowly die out, which would be sad day

I have herd about the local woodworking club in Wodonga but I might not have the time to visit them for awhile, school is taking up a lot of my time at the moment.
And seems a few people have some sort of connection to Wodonga around here, proves the point that it is a small world

Hi Flame.on, Welcome.
Pity you are not 18, we could have met up for a beer.:D
I was born in Wangaratta, but spent a lot of weekends and school holidays on a farm just out of Springhurst.
I now live in Wodonga.
