View Full Version : Album limits?

I seem to remember this being discussed before, but I can't seem to find the thread.

I've begun making a new cabinet and wanted to start a WIP thread, but I'm unable to add any more pictures to an existing Woodwork Forums album and I don't seem to be able to create a new one. I presume the reason I can't upload any more pictures is because I've reached a ceiling and ditto a new album.

It was previously hinted that pictures linked to third party sites (I used Photobucket for some earlier threads) were not appreciated. Any thoughts anyone?

Your User CP contains a list of your attachments. I thought there was a limit of total storage, but I don't see it now. Purging, if needed, would be subject to your discretion.

See the FAQs, with a search for [attachments], although it doesn't seem to address the immediate question.

I think using thumbnails reduces the total storage load, vs. full-size pictures.

The displeasure about external links arises from the possibility of their demise. Some of mine have vanished because of reorganization of the linked sites.

Other than that, wait for an administrator to correct everything I've just written.:-

Cheers,
Joe

Have had a look WW and everything seems to be all right but will get Neil to have a look as well.
There is a limit of 100 pics per album but you are no where near that.

Bump... Is Neil around?

Wheelin, I think I'd still need the pictures to be in an album if I were to post a blog, although I'm not sure how the forum blogs work.

Prefer p/bucket and other outside storage areas were not used as we have lost many photos over the years due to closures of sites, reorganisations etc. These losses can leave massive holes in threads.

By storing the pics here at least we have them for the life of the forums.

As for storage etc, here's the current details or as many as I'm prepared to share.

Maximum Number of Albums to Display on the Users' Profile Pages = 2
Maximum Pictures per Album = More than enough (true total kept quiet to avoid abuse)
Blogs are pretty much the same.
For now that's pretty much all the info I'm prepared to part with. Reason for the semi secrecy is mostly for security and to keep a lid on abuse.

In the past we have had people place hundreds of pics mostly smilies in posts and because of this some restrictions were placed on many of the graphics inclusions.

There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to include more pics in your album. Try again and let me know if there's still a problem.

Cheers - Neil :U

Welcome back mate! There's no place like home, is there!

I understand the issue with Photobucket et al. I'll have another look at my album and see if the "Add Photo" button has returned.
