Unfortunately Auld Bassoon died nearly 3 years ago, and there is a lengthy thread about his passing (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f68/vale-auld-bassoon-48100/).
His funeral (and a little wake) was attended by a number of Victorian members including the Senior Administrator.
Wonder how many more of the supposed 51,000 members might be no longer with us and how many of those are still getting birthday greetings? A glance at any random page of the Members List will show that large numbers posted just once or twice and were never heard of again, and many have not posted in years.

Should inactive members be deleted?

My humble apologies I must have been ready an old post by Basson recently no offence meant.

Ray, I certainly wasn't admonishing you. Your greetings were absolutely in the right spirit.
Sorry I gave the wrong impression. My post was meant simply to point out a shortcoming in the Members List. On reflection, I perhaps should have started a new thread elsewhere.

 to you Auld. :C

Wood Borer, mate - I'm sure it was a quiet one (yeah right) and a good one. Surely it couldn't have meant any more LN stuff. Maybe now it's Marcou (sp?) and Hotley. :2tsup:

No harm Brian I understood that. I agree I realised we also have 2 Nine/9 fingers like Stirlo we do it every year to him not young Stirlo.

Somewhere Neil said they had a clean out but not sure how far that goes as it could upset many old posts.

Thanks for the birthday greetings.

It always reminds me of Steve (Auld Bassoon).

My toy for my birthday this year was a new cordless drill.

Should inactive members be deleted? No, this would involve removing their posts and holes would appear all over the forums. I kind of like Steve's legacy anyway, nice to read occasionally when I stumble across one. :)
