SWMBO recently purchased a Coleman Propane Catalytic Heater and we had a bit of a chuckle at the note at the end of the troubleshooting guide

John sometimes you have to state the obvious for some people.

Tis a good one though.

That's like McDonalds having to put on their coffee cups " Caution the contents may be hot" after being succesfully sued.

I'd have complained if the contents weren't hot.

Peter.

Thats for people who shouldn't be allowed out on their own,(without a leash or
something attached) seen lots of little old ladies who fit that category:p

Was on an Emirates flight about twelve years ago and they gave us a bag of smoked almonds, to enjoy with our beverage, and the package clearly stated

Warning: Product contains Nuts

I asked about the madness of this, and the stewardess pointed out that it was a legal requirement to stop "stupid Americans suing them".

This has stuck with me to this day,

Ron

If you think that's bleeding obvious, check out this picture I took of a parking meter in Port Stephens NSW

Bought a plastic Tupperware type of container from Woollies last year - on the sticker glued to the lid was "Remove lid before using" - this ranked right up there on the stupidity meter for me.

Love 'em.

Like Ron's, I picked up a pack of bar nuts recently and it had the same warning: May contain traces of nuts.

Not quite on the same subject (the bleeding obvious) but in a similar vein:

There's a small reserve near work. There's a large sign at said reserve that states: "Absolutely no ball games of any sort to be played on this reserve".
The sign hangs on the fence surrounding a couple of tennis courts
