Who still lives around Snow area of the Blue Mountains.
I am also ex-snow country Newcastle Upon Tyne then 16 years driving snow tours here.
Saw this photo in the London Daily Mail this morning my old home town.

Love the white stuff to visit and ski on. To live in? No fanks.
Off to Hokkaido in Feb where on a good day you can ski waist deep in powder.

Well, it belongs to the time of the winter, anyway here in that cold frog land :)
Remarkable just as I noticed yesterday, one thin layer of snow is crippling the whole road traffic, 630km traffic jam, trains not running, so everyone stuck into the snow, isn't that funny. :rolleyes:

Ah, the wonder of snow is how varied it is: from corn to powder. Once saw 'sago' snow which is pellets of the stuff like ball bearings. Forms when falling flakes are whipped up down and around in the wind and get compacted. When it lands you can do pirouettes on the stuff with your skis flat on the surface.

Having been there ubtil we emigrated to here and enjoyed (?) the wonders of taboggans sleds skates I think I prefer my hot (45C+) summers and winter days of average 16C. The beauty of it all is my choice of vehicle(motorcycle) is rideable all year.:D
AHHH Australia, land of diversity, truely gods country great 1 day paradise the next:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:
Cheers Ad & all forum members and their families and have a safe and enjoyable christmas and a better new year.:D:D:

Same to you Pete.
A better thing about Aus. is that you can ride and enjoy the snow. There's a big XC ski resort 90 mins from my place for winter sports and in summer the same area is great for fanging ;-}
