I want to install a cheap split air con from bunnings, a Heller HAC1 or Akai unit. I'm sure it's not rocket science but would appreciate tips for sourcing pipe, flaring tool and fittings in the Camden NSW area. Will I need to have it gassed and inspected/ passed? Anyone done this, I could pick their brains. Mark

you can find all the tools you need on ebay and possibly even the pipe.

I would double check before you get anything. I could be wrong but from memory my one came gassed. When they hooked the pipes together it broke a seal and she was ready to fire up.

if the connection between the units is more than 3.5m you will probably need to get it topped up with gas ask the retailer what the limit is

Thanks, that's music to my ears, I'm eager to hear about that supplier, local suppliers here aren't very encouraging, did your son get it checked or signed off? Regards, Mark
