View Full Version : SEQ BBQ for 7 Nov

2nd November 2009, 07:50 PM
is on his way back from the Prossi turn thingy and intends to call in to my place and stay for a couple of days. It was going to be during the week, but now looks like he can be here over the weekend.

So, BBQ at my place this Saturday :2tsup:.

Yeh I know short notice, but that is the luck of the draw. No time for a big shop, so if you want to eat or drink something, you better bring it :U Ok, I can provide some bread, plates and cups.

My shed is mess with projects and timber every where, so NO demos, this will be just a meet and greet. In SEQ tradition, bring along a door prize like timber or anything you want to bring, and we will distribute them about as usual with names in a hat.

So start planning :p

Bah, that's not enough notice. Can't hang around for the Hands on Expo? It's only another week

You must be talking about mine.
Thought I'd turn up and bring a lemon meringue pie (as usual). I can bake other things, but I know salivates at the thought of lemon meringue pie. As there's only 3 of us (so far), he should get a good share.
Too late to make something in the shed, but I'll at least find some nice bits of wood to bring.

Hi All.

Dang!:(

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it. The parents are meeting the to-be-inlaws in Ballina, so supervision is essential. Otherwise I would love to come.:o

Say 'hi' to everyone for me. I hope you have a rippa of a day.

Cheers

Take a spare kit and glued blanks - is one of the best spindle turners around.

His turning demo's are outstanding.

Watching him turn a pen is out of this world. - When he is finished i have never seen him need to sand one yet.

Cheers

Great day had by all :2tsup:

Started by just hanging around relaxing and catching up, followed by lunch with agreat line up of food.

Then off to a sharpening demo on the Tormek by , a lot were mine , followed by turning demos with how to use the sharp chisels and technique specifics.

I demo'd turning a cast bansia Sierra, CA finishing my way, also resin casting, stabilization and glitter :- application.

Special thanks to Julie ('s SWIMBO) for all the help she gave me giving that woman's touch to the place before the mob arrived :2tsup:

A few things were left behind:

Cowboys :? stubby holder

Small esky (Star?).

Weisy, you left behind the excess meat - I can bring it to hands-on, or keep it for the next BBQ?

Yep, their both mine. I had such a good day that I forgot them. I wasn't worried, infact left them there on purpose:rolleyes: so I could come back to get to play in Neil's shed again.

Thanks to for the individual tuition on " The taming of the Skew " Probably did not help me much but at least I now have some idea of what I am supposed to do.

It was a great day and good to meet up with everybody again.

Peter.
