AdIt was here again today, so maybe. My dog still thinks its weird though. Apparently they eat white ants. It was rummaging around in some old rotted tree stumps and logs.

Anne Maria, this is a hedgehog, right? We call that an ''egel''.
Sometimes I'm seeing them in my backyard, they look a bit different than the Australian version.
Look to this video, YouTube - The Hedgelog Family - De Familie Egel

Ad, it's like a hedgehog but is actually an echidna. If you are interested look at: Australian monotreme,Australian Echidna, Spiny Ant-eater - Aussie-Info.com (http://www.aussie-info.com/identity/fauna/echidna.php)

Ah, yes the wonderful Australian wildlife. The echidna, which eats white ants and the wombat, which eats roots and leaves. I once had a girlfriend call me a wombat  :D.

Grumpy John,

:p

Most non-Australians wouldn't get it but explaining it will detract from the joke.

Cheers:doh: Trust you Calm! But I think what you would do is encase it in clay all over the spines and crack open when cooked. :D

Well I guess that's OK then.

So would they be like cats?

. . . More than one way to skin 'em and about half a dozen ways to cook 'em:2tsup:

They taste nothing like cats.. There are no words to describe the dreadful taste of a cat.. why do you think dogs lick their bums?.. to get rid of the cat taste... :-

Nice photos by the way
