Hi to all,
My friend was given a Promotional Ph. as he is a good Customer of this Electrical Place. Gave it to me as a gift. Thankyou. No box, no booklet, just the Phone.

1st. problem ; locked into a certain Ph.Co. I wanted to use another one. yes we can unlock it for you $110.80. Jam that?.

2nd.problem ; Found a Co. in the UK, sorry we can't unlock it, got my money back.
Next UK Co.sorry can't unlock your Ph. Can't get my $A10.99 back.
PayPal could not help me, Sorry.

Found someone local, they would unlock it $7.50, Beautiful, Done.

3rd. problem ; Good Camera ?. Have taken 40+ Photos. Impossible to get them out.
No holes for a Cable to connect to the Computer. Dash. Walked all over Geelong.
7 Ph. places I went to, "Sorry it wont happen, will not Download Photos ".

Googled, Motorola W218, Review.
They were right, It will not Download the Photos.

Why oh Why would a Co. do something so Stupid ?.

Anyway the Ph. works OK, has a great FM Radio, but you have to use the Ear Phones for it to work, as it is also the Antenna.

I must be to old, can't get the Stupid things to stay in my ears.

As I said the Phone works OK. ????
Regards,
issatree.

It looks like a very basic phone. No Bluetooth, no email, no pxt. Not sure of any other way to transfer photos from a phone if there's no cable, so it might be that you can only view them on the phone and that's it.

Motorola Motorola W218 (http://www.motorola.com/motoinfo/product/details.jsp?globalObjectId=192)

probably doesn't have bluetooth. There is a reason nokia and apple own teh mobile market.

It doesn't look like it has a removable card.

How about re-setting your life, to just before the "gift"? Start over (reboot) from there, but without the "gift."

Might be the path of least resistance.

Cheers,
Joe

If it can take photos and you can view them after, then I would think it has a card, I can't see how it could work without one as the images have to be stored somewhere.
But I am often known to be wrong.

One would think so, but reading the product blurb it says it has up to 1Mb of memory configurable by the vendor and there is no mention of any other card.

My BIL had a phone like this - the (dumb) idea of the camera was you just took the photo and looked at it on the phone and then overwrote the pics.

I too had a read of the product blurb and noticed the oddity of the 1Mb of memory with no mention of any card. If this is the case, what a pointless exercise producing and selling a phone like this with such low specs, beats me!:(

I agree, don't you hate it when you get something for FREE, and it's not perfect! I hate FREE stuff at the best of times, but when thet same FREE stuff doesn't do what I want, I get frustrated that I spent absolutely NOTHING to get it!
It was a free phone, use it for what it's designed for (phone calls). If not go and BUY one that does what you want, then complan about it! Crikey, some people just want it all.

My nokia has a camera etc but no removable card. It has a couple of megs onboard and bluetooth and cable connectivity. This is a fairly common config. I don't know what that phone has/has not, I just found the product page and the ebay listings, that's all.

If you want a phone and it works use it, if you want a multi function thing that works well ditch it and buy something with your required feature set. Phones are like pencils, disposable, they only last a few years anyway, they are a consumable item.

No such thing as FREE. :;

Sooner or later, somewhere, sometime, someone has to pay - you just have to hope that it isn't you.

As to the described phone - it appears to be up there with the great world shattering ideas like "ashtray on a motorcycle" or "fob pocket in a pair of undies"

It's not sooner - it's constantly. Everyone (including the prize winner) pays for these so called free prizes all the time. Prizes are just part of the cost of business and they rarely directly come out of the companies pockets.
