G'day
Am pulling up yellow tounge in an extention and relacing it with recycled 89x19 tassie oak to match older part of the room. Should I butt match to existing ( across a 1.2 open area with same run of north / south or try and offset joins. Do I need to clamp when laying t/o and do I glue as well as nail to joists (does this stop squeaks?) I will remove skirting, but as y/t has sliding doors & windows sitting on I will have to add new joists along the end where boards will finish, can I use treated pine for this joist? and how long do I leave tassie oak recycled boards down before I sand...as wife thinks I procrasinate any way :~ - dont want to go too quick.
